Part 1-STI and BBV Nursing: An Introduction
Nurses and midwives play a crucial role in the prevention of blood borne viruses (BBVs) and sexually transmissible infections (STIs).
Learning Outcomes:
- Describe the clinical presentation of common STIs and BBVs
- Identify the priority populations for STI and BBV
- Explain the importance of testing and screening for STIs and BBVs
- Demonstrate confidence in offering STI and BBV screening to patients
- iscuss the process for contact tracing and Identify resources to assistTarget AudienceNurses, midwives, and sexual health workers.

Conditions of Registration:
Registration Cancellations
Registration cancellations and amendments must be notified in writing to ASHM. Cancellations received before February 15 will not incur a cancellation fee. Cancellations received in writing after February 15 2022 will incur a $70 per day cancellation fee. This fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of ASHM.
Substitutions
As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person without incurring any penalty. ASHM must be advised of the transfer in writing. Please email the name, position, phone and email address of the new delegate to josh.borja@ashm.org.au
