March Morning Minds – Peer Education Series

Join us on the last Thursday of each month for a peer-led education series that will kick off your day in the right
way! Our presenters are highly passionate about the topics they are presenting on with the lived experience of
delivering health outcomes in the Kimberley region. Whether or not you need a little upskilling or just interested in
the topic, these free sessions are a great way to learn and connect with your fellow Health Professionals.

February topic Concussion – Chronic Kidney Disease & Renal Replacement Therapy in the Kimberley
Presented by – Dr Dean McKitrick

Dr Dean McKittrick is a General Practitioner working with the Kimberley Renal Services team covering the Derby and Fitzroy Valley Catchment area. Dean has worked and trained in the Kimberley Region since 2019 starting off as a Resident and Registrar at Broome Hospital, completing his GP training with Kimberley Medical Group and also the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Remote Clinics. He is now a fellowed GP with extended skills in Emergency Medicine working as a Renal GP for KRS and alongside the RPH Nephrology Teams. His current role includes outreach clinics for patients with all stages of Chronic Kidney Disease, caring for 76 patients on dialysis within the Derby and Fitzroy Crossing Renal Units and On-Call work for the Kimberley Region. Dean is passionate about providing education to both his patients and fellow medical staff to improve health outcomes for all patients living with CKD.
