Introduction to mindfulness

The Rural Doctors’ Association of Western Australia and Mindful Meditation Australia have teamed up to bring rural doctors this introduction to mindfulness. This comes at a time where the healthcare system is stretched like we have never seen it, burn out is high and self care is extremely important. As busy professionals, mindfulness is the perfect exercise to engage in within all aspects of your life – it’s free, doesn’t require any equipment or lycra, it can be done anywhere and only takes a few minutes every day. We hope that this session is a valuable start to you mindfully bringing awareness to yourself and using these tactics to make every day’s tough interactions easier. 

Mindful Self is a program that may inspire a workplace where leaders and staff experience improved relationships, job performance and satisfaction, as well as personal wellbeing through ways of dealing with personal and workplace stress, anxiety and worry.

 

In this introductory session we will go over the basic neuroscience of mindfulness and meditation practices, as well as, importantly, inspire ways to engage, and deal with, workplace pressure through mindfulness and meditation tools for managing the self in work environments.
