With an aging population and rising incidence of diabetes, the huge burden of lower limb
wounds on patient quality of life and health-care systems continues to grow.1,2 What can
clinicians do to help reduce the burden of common lower leg wounds, such as venous leg
ulcers, arterial ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers? How can you gain confidence in the identification
and treatment of the common causes of lower leg wounds?
You are invited to join us for an interactive educational webinar with Donna Larsen (nee Angel),
where she will discuss how to assess, plan, treat, monitor and refer common types of lower
limb wounds. Donna will also bring attention to red flags indicating atypical wounds to ensure
appropriate treatment and where necessary timely referral.
By consolidating and simplifying best practice recommendations and guidelines, Donna
will share step by step processes to enable you to confidently manage lower limb wounds.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to access the Wound Type Specific Pathways for VLU
to support your learning and translation to practice.

• Be confident in conducting a comprehensive lower limb assessment

About Donna:
Donna is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Wound Management at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH), Western Australia. Donna has
over 30 publications in Wound Management and Vascular Surgery. She is an Editorial Board Member for the journal, Wound
Practice and Research. She is also Board member of the International Wound Infection Institute. She was awarded as a Life
Member of Wounds Australia for her contribution to the organization. Donna is part of the High-Risk Foot Unit at RPH and
has a strong interest in improving the health of indigenous people. Her other main interest is wound infection.
