Whether or not you need a little upskilling or just interested in\nthe topic\, these free sessions are a great way to learn and connect with your fellow Health Professionals. \nApril/May topic; Critical Conversations – An introduction to an approach that will help you address conflict or difficult conversations in any context\, suitable for humans/professionals of different backgrounds\, experience and interests \nPresented by – Astrid Gerrits \nAstrid is a Dutch trained Psychosocial worker in private practice with experience in academic medical (N/P/ICU\, child oncology)\, correctional\, mental health\, disability and family law services. She has a passion for relationships and is one of few that doesn’t consider conflict a dirty word. Outside her counselling and mediation practice with individuals\, couples and families she teaches mediators globally in her Broome developed model of dispute resolution in which she has incorporated Restorative Practice. \n  \nRegister HERE

DESCRIPTION:Trauma-Informed Care Seminar\n6.30pm – 8.30pm\, Tuesday 8 April\, RCS training Hub 1/49 Dampier Tce Broome \n\n\n\n\nKimberley health professionals are invited to an interactive evening seminar with visiting Geelong-based Psychiatrist Prof. Ajeet Singh. \nDr Singh’s areas of expertise include trauma and neuroscience-informed care\, mood disorders\, self-relationship psycho-analytics\, and pharmacogenetics. \nDr Singh is also an author of the current and past RANZCP Mood Disorders Clinical Practice Guidelines and has published more than 100 academic papers whilst a fulltime clinician. \nRead more Professor Ajeet Singh – Empathic Psychiatry – Geelong\, VIC. \nNetworking Dinner and drinks will be provided at the conclusion of the event. Whether or not you need a little upskilling or just interested in\nthe topic\, these free sessions are a great way to learn and connect with your fellow Health Professionals. \nFebruary topic Concussion – Chronic Kidney Disease & Renal Replacement Therapy in the Kimberley\nPresented by – Dr Dean McKitrick \nDr Dean McKittrick is a General Practitioner working with the Kimberley Renal Services team covering the Derby and Fitzroy Valley Catchment area. Dean has worked and trained in the Kimberley Region since 2019 starting off as a Resident and Registrar at Broome Hospital\, completing his GP training with Kimberley Medical Group and also the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Remote Clinics. He is now a fellowed GP with extended skills in Emergency Medicine working as a Renal GP for KRS and alongside the RPH Nephrology Teams. His current role includes outreach clinics for patients with all stages of Chronic Kidney Disease\, caring for 76 patients on dialysis within the Derby and Fitzroy Crossing Renal Units and On-Call work for the Kimberley Region. Dean is passionate about providing education to both his patients and fellow medical staff to improve health outcomes for all patients living with CKD. \nRegister HERE

He has worked across elite Australian football\, cricket\nand rugby\, and currently provides specialist sports medicine care in his Broome\ncommunity.
