SUMMARY:Rural Emergency Advanced Clinical Training (REACT+) | Perth
DESCRIPTION:The Rural Health West CPD REACT+ workshop is designed to assist Western Australian Visiting Medical Practitioners to maintain their emergency knowledge and skills\, and gain formal assessment towards their emergency credentialing\, as required by WA Country Health Service. Covering medical emergencies\, major trauma and cardiac arrest in adults and children\, and associated lifesaving procedural skills training\, REACT+ is a highly interactive workshop. Participants are provided with audio-visual pre-learning materials and the course consists almost entirely of small group practical skills stations and simulated scenarios. \nEligibility: All medical practitioners are welcome to register\, with priority given to currently practising rural and remote medical practitioners. \nLength: Two days – 8.00am-5.00pm. \nCost: $2\,500 (incl GST)\nThe cost of this workshop is subsidised by WA Country Health Service  \nAccreditation: \n12.75 Educational Activity\, 11.83 Performance Review\, 1 Additional CPD Requirements hours. 6 Anaesthetics (Practice Evaluation) and 6 Emergency Medicine MOPS hours with Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine for continuing professional development hours.\n16 Educational Activity and 9 Reviewing Performance hours with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners for the 2023-2025 triennium.\n22.5 ACEM CPD hours \nThis workshop is eligible for the Rural Procedural Grants Program\, Anaesthetics and Emergency Medicine components. Please contact your college for eligibility prior to attending the course. \nThis education workshop is proudly delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with WA Country Health Service  \nPayment structure \nYou will receive an email link for payment in an event confirmation email. Payment is required within 10 days of receiving the email. If full payment is not received within 10 days\, your place will be offered to another delegate. \nCancellation policy \n\nApplicants who give notice of cancellation of four (4) weeks or more will receive a full refund of the workshop registration fee.\nApplicants who withdraw from the workshop on or 14 days prior will receive a 50% refund of the workshop registration fee.\nApplicants who fail to attend the workshop or who withdraw from the workshop less than 14 days of the workshop date are not eligible for a refund.

DESCRIPTION:Workshop details\nThis Rural Health West CPD workshop\, presented by leading specialists in their field\, has been designed to offer practising rural medical practitioners an update in toxicological emergencies. \nThis one-day workshop stream covers general and specific topics related to poisoning and local toxicology\, using an interactive tutorial format concentrating on small group discussions of case scenarios. \nThe workshop content includes: \n\nUnderstand the pathophysiology and clinical effects of common envenomation (snake\, spider and marine).\nImprove ability to decide on patient disposition and appropriately stabilise patients for transport.\nImprove understanding of the appropriate use of first aid and investigations\, and identify and list common poisonings.\nApply a systematic diagnostic approach in toxicological presentations to increase patient safety.\n\nEligibility\nOpen to all Medical Practitioners\, GP’s.
