DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite you to our Coloplast Professional educational webinar \nDate: Wednesday 17th July 2024\nTime: 1:00pm – 2:00pm AEDT \nClick HERE to Register \nWith an aging population and rising incidence of diabetes\, the huge burden of lower limb\nwounds on patient quality of life and health-care systems continues to grow.1\,2 What can\nclinicians do to help reduce the burden of common lower leg wounds\, such as venous leg\nulcers\, arterial ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers? How can you gain confidence in the identification\nand treatment of the common causes of lower leg wounds?\nYou are invited to join us for an interactive educational webinar with Donna Larsen (nee Angel)\,\nwhere she will discuss how to assess\, plan\, treat\, monitor and refer common types of lower\nlimb wounds. Donna will also bring attention to red flags indicating atypical wounds to ensure\nappropriate treatment and where necessary timely referral.\nBy consolidating and simplifying best practice recommendations and guidelines\, Donna\nwill share step by step processes to enable you to confidently manage lower limb wounds.\nAdditionally\, you will have the opportunity to access the Wound Type Specific Pathways for VLU\nto support your learning and translation to practice.\nLearning Outcomes:\n• Differentiate common types of lower limb wounds\n• Be confident in conducting a comprehensive lower limb assessment\n• Understand best practice for the management f venous and arterial leg ulcers\n• Develop an understanding of atypical leg ulcers\n• Recognise when to make a timely and appropriate referral \nAbout Donna:\nDonna is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Wound Management at Royal Perth Hospital (RPH)\, Western Australia. Donna has\nover 30 publications in Wound Management and Vascular Surgery. She is an Editorial Board Member for the journal\, Wound\nPractice and Research. She is also Board member of the International Wound Infection Institute. She was awarded as a Life\nMember of Wounds Australia for her contribution to the organization. Donna is part of the High-Risk Foot Unit at RPH and\nhas a strong interest in improving the health of indigenous people. Her other main interest is wound infection.
